What does this resource focus on?
This resource is a Jeopardy game that includes 25 questions that cover third grade NBT Common Core standards. The Common Core standards are not displayed anywhere on the product, meaning this will work well for districts that do not align with Common Core.
What makes this resource unique?
This resource has a fun Halloween math theme. The colors of the question cards were thoughtfully selected to match this theme. Each question slide has a fun piece of Halloween clipart. Each question is carefully aligned to the Common Core standards.
What are the categories of questions?
You can see one question from each category in the preview. The categories are:
- Rounding
- Addition
- Subtraction
- Multiplication
- Word Problems (Addition and Subtraction)
How do I play?
It’s easy peasy! The game is all set up for you! Simply divide your class into teams, and show the questions one at a time. After students have answered, click again to show the correct answer! I’ve included several fun game variations with your purchase.
What is included with my purchase?
Your purchase includes:
- A digital Google Slides version
- A digital PowerPoint version
Each version includes:
- 25 Questions and 25 Answers
- Teacher directions (including a game variation idea guide)
- Scoreboard (Please see the note at the bottom about the differences between the Google Slides and PowerPoint scoreboards.)
How long does this game take to play?
This will vary based on your class and the game variation you are playing. I would plan for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the games do not save progress. So, if you close the game in the middle the next time you open it, it will be reset. In that case, I suggest writing down scores and questions that have been asked before closing so that you can quickly go back through the game before you and your class restart the game at a later time.
Is there an answer key?
Since this is not a typical resource that students ‘turn in’ there is not a traditional answer key. However, all answers are displayed within the game after students have answered.
What do I need to play?
You will need access to PowerPoint or Google Slides. I also recommend having dry erase, paper/pencil, etc materials for students to use to solve the problems.
IMPORTANT: The Google Slides version of this resource does not include the ability to track scores/questions on the resource directly. I have provided a score sheet and a game board so that you can keep track on paper. This is the only printing that may be required. If you are using PowerPoint, the game will keep track of the questions that have been used and there is a scoreboard included.
